The report states that the semi-final between New Zealand and India was to be played on pitch number 7 of the stadium, which has not yet played a World Cup match. The Indian board decided to hold the match on pitch number 6, on which 2 matches have already been played.

According to the Daily Mail report, India had a match against Sri Lanka and England against South Africa on pitch number 6. On pitch number 6, India bowled out the Sri Lankan team for 55 runs to make it a one-sided match.
