HAVANA: West Indies have announced a 15-man squad for the upcoming two-Test ICC World Test Championship (WTC) series against Sri Lanka, with fast bowlers Shammar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph returning.
The two fast bowlers have made their first Test appearance since July 2025, further strengthening the West Indies bowling line-up. The Caribbean team will look to improve its position in the current World Test Championship cycle.
Captain Roston Chase will continue to lead the team, while Joshua da Silva and Amir Jangoo have also been recalled to the national team following their impressive domestic performances.
Both Test matches between Sri Lanka and West Indies will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. The first Test will be played from June 25 to 29, while the second Test will be played from July 3 to 7.
West Indies head coach Darren Sammy expressed confidence in the squad, saying that every Test series is an opportunity for the team to grow and strengthen its identity. He said that Sri Lanka is a strong team, so we will have to play our best cricket.
