Govt blocks more than 2000 harmful website in 2024

ISLAMABAD: National Telecom Security Operations Center (NTSOC) has taken down more than 2000 spamming websites and mobile applications trying to steal the personal data of the citizens, according to statistics released by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

The data also shows that more than 550 cases of leaked Pakistani personal information were detected through dark web surveillance.

The NTSOC worked on a massive number of cybersecurity threats in the year 2024, handling more than 3,200 possible Indicators of Attack (IoAs) across the telecom sector. 3,946 Indicators of Compromise (IoCs) were issued to help identify and neutralize active threats.

Throughout the year, NTSOC also conducted more than 200 operational security actions. These comprised over 50 private threat alerts sent directly to important private sector businesses and 3,946 public security advisories sent by the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT).
