ISLAMABAD: The 5G service will be available for use in Pakistan starting on Eid al-Fitr. Users want to know if their phones show 5G support with the question.

5G networks will require users to have a smartphone that meets network requirements for both hardware and frequency bands.

Check Your Phone Settings

  • You need to access the settings menu and proceed to the mobile network section, where you establish your preferred network type.
  • Your phone supports 5G when you view network options that include 5G, 4G, and 3G, and 5G Auto and 5G Only.
  • 4G/LTE devices will not work because they lack the required features.
  • All users who own iPhones 11 or newer devices will have access to 5G technology.

Verify Online Specifications

  • The model number resides in the Settings section, where you select About Phone.
  • 5G compatibility information can be found by searching your model number on the official brand website or the GSMArena platform.
  • The information you need to find exists in the section that shows network requirements.

Use IMEI to Check Band Support

  • Dial *#06# to get your IMEI.
  • You need to use IMEI Info services to check whether your device can use local 5G frequency bands.
  • Certain phone models come equipped with 5G hardware, but they cannot connect to the 5G network in Pakistan.

Look for the 5G Symbol

  • The 5G icon should show up in the status bar when your phone detects a 5G network in the area.
  • The absence of the icon does not indicate device incompatibility because network coverage and system limitations can stop it from appearing.

 Update Your Software

  • Manufacturers provide 5G technology through system upgrades, which they distribute to their customers.
  • Users must visit the Settings menu and choose Software Update to download the newest version, which activates 5G capabilities.

The following steps allow users to verify 5G network readiness while preparing for Pakistan’s forthcoming advanced mobile communication system launch.
