CALIFORNIA: Instagram has rolled out a new feature that will now allow users to view and manage their Reels algorithm for the very first time. This feature can be accessed through a symbol of two lines with hearts in the corner of the Reels page.

How the New Reels Controls Work

With a click of their icons, users can view a list that displays what topics Instagram thinks those users are interested in. The users can then select which topics to see more of and which to see fewer of. Reels’ recommendations will change as per their selections.

Instagram also allows users to share their list of interests as determined by their algorithm, which will then be shared with their Story. This provides their friends a look at their interests as determined by the application.

“Being able to look at and change what our algorithm thinks a person likes will come to the Explore tab in the future, along with other places in the app, as outlined in a blog post by Instagram.”

“This new feature, which lets you view and tune algorithm recommendations in Reels, begins to roll out in the US today. Instagram says it will launch in all English-speaking countries “soon.”
