ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has launched a unique “Vibe Coding Contest” in Pakistan in collaboration with Google for Developers.
A total prize money of Rs. 2.5 million has been set aside for the best performing developers in this competition. The competition is part of the government’s “AI Sehkho 2026” program, which aims to promote the Artificial Intelligence (AI) sector in the country and prepare the youth for world-class challenges.
Shortlisted participants in the competition will present their innovative projects in three major cities of the country — Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The first phase of the program will be online from April 11 to May 3, in which participants will develop apps and games using “Google AI Studio”.
The program is completely free for participants and they will also be provided with cloud credits, mentorship and access to global developer communities.
Federal Minister for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja said that the initiative aims to transform Pakistan into an ‘AI powered’ economy and that the pace of the country’s development can be accelerated by teaching the youth modern digital skills.
Interested youth can register themselves through the official portal of “AI Sehkho 2026” and will not only get financial benefits but also get the opportunity to learn from Google experts.
