ISLAMABAD: Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms have been recorded during the ongoing fourth monsoon spell in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various areas of Punjab including Lahore.

In Lahore, early morning rain became a moment of joy for the tired civilians wrenched with the extreme heat in the country. However, the rain also led to the tripping of several power feeders, disrupting the electricity supply.

Areas in the provincial capital including Mall Road, Anarkali Bazaar, Awan Town, Qartaba Chowk, Waris Road, Lawrence Road, Canal Road, Harbanspura, and Islampura experienced downpours.

Moreover, cities like Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Muridke, Gujranwala, Attock, Wazirabad, Kamoke, and Shorkot in Punjab witnessed heavy rain storms as grey clouds appeared in the sky. Muree Hill Station also experienced pleasant weather with strong winds and rainfall.

Earlier, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) provided an alarm of high flash flooding in the Narowal and Sialkot districts of Punjab during the next three days due to rain. Rains in the upper reaches of Jammu may cause flooding in the Narowal and Sialkot rivers.

Karachi Weather Forecast

Meanwhile, the Met Office forecasted hot and humid weather in Karachi with a chance of light rain and drizzle today. The sky has been overcast since the morning and is likely to stay cloudy throughout the day.

The current temperature in the port city is 31 degrees Celsius, with winds blowing at 15 kilometers per hour and a humidity level of 80 percent.
