Islamabad weather forecast: PMD predicts rains in twin cities from today

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rain-wind/Thunderstorm in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Sunday evening/night and Monday.

As per the PMD, monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea are entering the south-eastern parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave is prevailing over Kashmir and adjoining areas.

Under these weather conditions, rain/storm/thundershower is predicted at a few places over the Twin Cities and Northeast Punjab, Southeast Sindh, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas on Sunday evening/night.

More rain with gusty winds/gusty winds and thundershowers is forecast at a few places in the Twin Cities and Northeast Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Monday.

The maximum temperature in Islamabad is expected to be between 39 and 41 degrees Celsius on Monday and between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature is expected to be between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius on Monday and between 39 and 41 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in northeast Punjab, Pothohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, northeast/south Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Nokkundi remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C. Maximum temperature in Bahawalpur and Dalbandin was recorded at 46°C, and Sibbi, Dadu, Bhakkar and Jacobabad at 43°C.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 67 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 61 per cent.
