Karachi Weather forecast: Met Office predicts rain in capital city

KARACHI: The Meteorological Department says that the weather will remain hot and humid in Karachi during the next 24 hours. The sky is overcast in Karachi, there is a possibility of light rain in the city today evening and night.

According to meteorological analysts, heat intensity is likely to increase in Karachi today and there may be light rain in the city this evening or night.

Analysts have said that there is a possibility of rain with thunder in the north-eastern areas of Karachi today. However, these formations are less likely to affect the city, as they are located far away. At present, winds are blowing at a speed of 17 km per hour from the west direction in the city.

According to the Meteorological Department, the current temperature in the city is 32 degrees Celsius and the intensity of heat is being felt up to 39 degrees Celsius. Today, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius and the humidity level is 74%.

Meteorological analysts further say that the initial monsoon rains in Karachi may occur between July 8 and 10.

According to the Air Quality Index, the air quality in the city is good. Karachi is ranked 11th among the most polluted cities in the world and 5th among the most polluted cities in Pakistan. The amount of particulate matter in the air has been recorded at 93 particulate meters.
