Karachi weather forecast: PMD issues urban flood warning for major cities

KARACHI: Citizens of Karachi experienced pleasant weather with light rainfall in the morning with expected maximum temperature ranging from 29 to 31 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level ranges up to 85% accompanied by southwest winds blowing at 20 km/h speed. The air quality improved due to continuous rainfall in the city providing relief from recent pollution.

According to details, the city including areas  Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karsaz, Chowrangi, Landhi, Murtaza Chowrangi, Saddar, Clifton, Malir, and adjoining areas received rain.

Moreover, rainfall disrupted the transportation system in the city due to water collected on them making it look like a river, water also gushed into people’s houses because of the clogged sewerage system affecting the infrastructure.

Wind-Thunderstorm/rain with few moderate/heavy to isolated very heavy falls likely in Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal & Tharparkar districts and Karachi division during 03-06 August with occasional gaps.

Earlier, PMD also issued a flood warning for the lower regions of Sindh. Advising people to carry rain gear and not to go near electricity poles or damaged buildings.
