ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast, which predicts rain and snowfall in several areas tonight, with fog likely in the plains.
According to the department, rain is likely in northern Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, including nearby areas, and snowfall in the mountainous areas. Rain is also likely in the Potohar region, including Islamabad, while snowfall is likely in Murree, Galiyat and its surroundings.
The plains of Punjab and upper Sindh will be affected by moderate to heavy fog, which will reduce visibility at night.
Temperature updates show Gupis, located in Gilgit-Baltistan, recorded a low of -6 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the maximum temperatures reached 27°C in Karachi, 23°C in Islamabad, 18°C in Lahore, 16°C in Peshawar, and 6°C in Quetta.
The Environmental Protection Agency has also issued an air quality warning for Islamabad, with the air quality index reaching 219, which is considered harmful to health.
