LAHORE: Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued an alert for wind, rain, and hail across the province.
A spokesperson for the PDMA said that rain is likely in most districts of Punjab from June 2 to 5.
Rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Layyah, Faisalabad, Jhang, Okara, Gujranwala, and Hafizabad.
According to the PDMA, rain is also predicted in Sargodha, Mianwali, Sheikhupura, Khushab, and Mandi Bahauddin from June 2 to 5, while rain is also expected in Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, Jhang, and surrounding areas.
In this regard, DG PDMA Punjab Umar Javed has said that in view of the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, an alert has been issued to the commissioners and deputy commissioners across the province regarding the weather situation.
He instructed the citizens to stay in safe places to protect themselves from lightning during rain, and never go under open places during thunderstorms.
DG PDMA Umar Javed further said that farmers should take all their advance measures, keeping in mind the weather conditions, and tourists should take precautionary measures while traveling to the northern areas.
