PESHAWAR: Mainly hot weather is expected in Peshawar and most districts of the province, while very hot in southern districts with chances of gusty winds/duststorms. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely at isolated places in Kohistan, Swat, Balakot and Mansehra.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave will likely affect the upper and western parts of the country starting tonight.
Under the influence of these conditions, partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Chitral, Dir, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Swat, Kurram, Waziristan, Bajaur and Khyber on Thursday night. Hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the province.
In Peshawar, the maximum temperatures will likely remain between 38-40 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most districts of the province during the last 24 hours.
Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province, with the maximum temperature recorded at 42°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 63 percent.
In Peshawar, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 60 percent.
