Weather update: PMD forecast rain starting from December 18

ISLAMABAD: Most areas of the country are currently in the grip of a dry winter. Due to the lack of rain, seasonal diseases are increasing. In the last month of November, rainfall was recorded at 72 percent less than normal.

Speaking to a private media, weather analyst Jawad Memon said that most models currently agree that a western circulation may enter Pakistan between December 18 and 20, 2025, which is expected to bring good rains to the country.

He clarified that this is a long-term forecast and may change with each passing day. We are constantly monitoring all these climate changes and will keep you informed promptly.

As per details, the Meteorological Department has issued a pre-alert advisory on the drought situation in Balochistan. According to the advisory, the lack of rainfall has intensified in the western and southwestern areas of the province, and the drought situation is expected to intensify further.

According to the Meteorological Department’s advisory, the lack of rainfall in the western and southwestern regions from May to November this year has intensified. Due to the lack of rainfall, the number of consecutive dry days has increased in these areas.

According to the report, temperatures are likely to be above normal and rainfall below normal in the affected areas by February 2026.
