ISLAMABAD: Airports across Europe are facing a major cyber attack, which has severely affected flight operations.

According to the news agency, the global computerized system that handles passengers at airports around the world is currently inactive, causing problems for millions of passengers.

Serious technical problems have been reported at airports in Germany and Berlin, including the Belgian capital Brussels, while the departure of several flights at London’s Heathrow Airport is also facing delays.

Airline officials say that long queues have formed at airports due to disruptions in the check-in and boarding processes of passengers.

According to experts, this cyber attack has been carried out in a highly organized manner and investigative agencies are trying to trace its motives and those responsible.

The European Union has called an emergency meeting so that steps can be taken to immediately restore security and the air travel system.

Analysts say that if the system is not restored soon, it could also have an impact on global air travel.
