Govt announces six public holidays for January 2026

KUWAIT CITY:  Kuwait has announced three holidays for the New Year.

According to the Kuwaiti media, the government has announced six holidays for the Night of Ascension and the beginning of the New Year.

The three-day holiday will be on the beginning of the new year, with public holidays from Thursday, January 1, to Saturday, January 3.

All government offices and schools will be closed on the occasion of the New Year holidays, with regular work in the new year starting on Sunday, January 4.

In addition, three holidays will be given in accordance with the Night of Ascension. The holiday for the Night of Ascension will be on Friday, January 16. Since Friday is already a holiday in Kuwait, the holidays will continue from January 16 to January 18.
