LOUISIANA: A tragic shooting incident in the city of Shreveport, Louisiana, US, has shaken the entire area, where a man killed 8 children, including 7 of his own, while two others were injured.

According to police, the incident occurred on Sunday morning at two different homes. The children who were killed ranged in age from one to about 12 years old. Among the injured is a woman who is allegedly the mother of the suspect’s children.

According to a police spokesman, the suspect was identified as Shemar Elkins, who was killed in a shootout with police while trying to flee after the incident. According to authorities, the suspect also stole a vehicle at gunpoint during the escape.

Police say that according to the initial investigation, the incident was domestic in nature, however, its full investigation is ongoing and the reasons for the incident are still unclear.

The mayor of Shreveport described the tragedy as one of the worst incidents in the city’s history, saying that it is a very heartbreaking incident.

On the other hand, Mike Johnson and state Governor Jeff Landry also expressed their condolences on social media, expressing their sympathy to the affected families and saying that they stand with the victims in this difficult time.

According to statistics, more than 100 mass shootings have been reported in the United States so far this year, in which dozens of people, especially children, have lost their lives.

According to experts, such incidents reflect the serious consequences of increasing gun violence and domestic conflicts in the United States, which require strict measures to control.
