TEHRAN: Iran has warned the United States that in the event of any possible attack, Tehran will consider Israel and US military bases in the region as legitimate targets for retaliation.

This warning was given by the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, during his address to the parliament.

According to the Reuters news agency, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said that if the United States takes any military action against Iran, Iran will respond forcefully and American military installations in the region, including Israel, may be targeted.

On the other hand, sources say that Israel is on high alert due to fears that the United States may directly intervene in support of the ongoing nationwide protest movement in Iran. Israeli security agencies are closely monitoring any possible developments.

This warning comes at a time when tensions are rising in the Middle East and US-Iranian relations are once again strained.
