GAZA: At least 17 people, including children, were killed in an Israeli attack on al-Zeitoun School in southern Gaza City, here on Saturday.
As per the details, the school was sheltering dozens of homeless families. The latest death toll is 17, according to Gaza‘s Civil Defense Agency. Al-Zaytoun School is part of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestinian refugees in the Middle East. The coordinates of such schools are known to Israel.
“At least 17 martyrs, including eight children, and more than 30 injured, mostly children and women,” an agency spokesman reported, adding that thousands of the family had taken refuge in the school which had been attacked by Israeli forces.
According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, a separate attack on another school in the same neighborhood injured several others.
