ITLAY: Two Pakistani citizens have been arrested by the Italian police for allegedly murdering four migrant workers whose bodies were discovered in a torched minivan, as per media reports from Italy.

The vehicle was discovered at a gas station next to a village in an enormous agricultural region in southern Italy’s Calabria.

Images captured on the CCTV cameras showed two people preventing the doors of the van from being opened from the outside and pouring some liquid into it, thus igniting it.

There had been 14 cases of torching vehicles carrying Pakistanis in the region in the past few months, amid tensions among the migrants over how the farm jobs and housing should be shared.

Firefighters were summoned to the burning van incident, which occurred around 13:00 (local time) / 11:00 GMT on Tuesday.

Upon putting out the fire, the firefighters discovered the ghastly sight of four charred bodies in the van.
As per the reports, both suspects were arrested on the basis of evidence revealed through the CCTV recordings.

The media in Italy reported that another man from Afghanistan had survived the attack. According to him, there were three Afghans and one Pakistani killed in the incident.
