ISLAMABAD: The Libyan military chief and four of his colleagues were killed in a plane crash in Türkiye. The wreckage of the plane was found in the Himana district near Ankara.
According to the Turkish Interior Minister, the plane took off from Ankara Esenboga Airport for Tripoli at 8:10 pm and lost contact with air traffic control at 8:52 pm.
According to Turkish media, the plane tried to turn back towards Ankara after a technical fault, but crashed before landing.
There were five people on board the plane, including the Libyan chief of staff. Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid al-Dabiba confirmed the death of the army chief.
