KABUL: Due to the Taliban’s extremist thinking, many countries have suspended diplomatic relations with Afghanistan.

After Britain, Turkey and Norway, Japan has also announced the closure of the Afghan embassy. According to the Afghan newspaper Kabul Times, the Afghan embassy in Japan will be closed from January 31, 2026.

According to the Kabul Times, all political and economic activities at the embassy will be suspended. Afghan citizens abroad are at risk of serious legal problems due to the diplomatic closure.

Due to the Taliban’s authoritarian policy, many countries have tightened the entry rules for Afghans. According to the Afghan newspaper Amo, Russia has refused to recruit Afghan workers due to security concerns.

The expulsion of Afghan refugees from many countries including the United States, Germany, Pakistan and Iran is ongoing. According to experts, the Taliban’s extremist policies are causing dangerous global isolation for Afghanistan.
