ALASKA: No official announcement could be made regarding the Russia-Ukraine ceasefire in the long meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Putin.

The important meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin took place on Friday at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) in Alaska.

The meeting between the two presidents lasted 4 hours. Both leaders described the talks as very constructive, but a ceasefire to end the Ukraine war could not be officially announced.

The US and Russian presidents arrived in the US state of Alaska on Friday, just moments apart. President Trump came out of Air Force One first and welcomed President Putin on the red carpet.

He shook hands warmly and took him to his limousine to the meeting point at the military air base.

There was no interpreter with the two presidents sitting in the back seat of the car. The Russian president speaks good English anyway, so there was a Trump-Putin one-on-one meeting in the car to some extent.

The two foreign ministers of the two countries were present in the formal talks, with 2 officials from each side present.

The two leaders avoided answering questions from journalists at the start of the meeting at the delegation level.

Ceasefire in Ukraine

According to the news agency, the meeting discussed the ceasefire in Ukraine. President Trump wants a ceasefire, but he insisted on a second meeting.

It was clear that the leaders of the United States and Russia would talk to end the war in Ukraine and improve bilateral relations.

Trump and Putin’s joint press conference

US President Donald Trump and Russian President Putin held a joint press conference after a long meeting.

After the meeting, President Putin was given the opportunity to speak first in the press conference.

The Russian President described his talks with Donald Trump as constructive and thanked Donald Trump for inviting him to Alaska for talks.

President Putin said that an important part of the common history of Russia and the United States is connected with Alaska. President Trump has adopted a good attitude like neighbors and has established very good relations with Trump.

Talking about the situation in the ongoing war in Ukraine, the Russian President said that he considers the Ukrainian people as brothers. The current situation in Ukraine is a tragedy and a source of great sorrow for Russia.

President Putin said that the security of Ukraine should be ensured and Moscow is ready to work for this purpose, however, he stressed that the root cause of the problem must be eliminated for a lasting and lasting peace.

Putin said that the root causes of the war must be eliminated for a sustainable and lasting peace, and has said many times that all of Russia’s legitimate concerns must be taken into account. He has called for restoring the balance of security around the world, including Europe.

The Russian president said that relations between the two countries are at their lowest level since the Cold War, Russia has a special interest in ending the war in Ukraine and finding a lasting solution, and he hopes that European countries will not try to create obstacles or sabotage progress.

Putin said that if Trump were president in 2022, there would be no war in Ukraine, and he hopes that a consensus with Trump will pave the way for peace in Ukraine.

US President Trump’s speech

US President Trump thanked his Russian counterpart and his entire team for the talks and said that it was a very constructive meeting, progress was made on many issues and many things were agreed upon.

Trump said he would first call Ukrainian President Zelensky and also discuss the issue with NATO leaders.

President Trump admitted that the most important point on the Ukraine issue could not be agreed with Russia, but at the same time he said that it is quite possible that an agreement can be reached with Russia on the Ukraine issue.

Unlike some European leaders, President Trump acknowledged that Ukraine is as interested in ending the Ukraine conflict as President Putin.

US President Donald Trump called the accusation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election a fraud.

President Trump said he would contact his Russian counterpart by phone and expressed hope that a second meeting would take place soon.

Putin invites Trump to meet in Moscow

Taking advantage of the phrase, Russian President Putin immediately invited President Donald Trump to meet in Moscow in English.

To which President Trump agreed with Putin’s proposal for the next meeting in Moscow and said that it is interesting, I will get some excitement on it, and I can see it happening.

In response, moments before the start of this historic meeting, Ukrainian President Zelensky said that Russian attacks on Ukraine were ongoing even before the Putin-Trump meeting, and there is no indication that Russia will stop the war and an effective solution can be found from the trilateral meeting.

It should be noted that the Trump-Putin meeting took place in an environment where both leaders expressed their views to the media but avoided answering questions.
