Pyongyang: North Korea fired 10 ballistic missiles into the sea during joint US-South Korean military exercises.

According to a statement issued by the South Korean military, North Korea fired about 10 unidentified ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan. The North Korean ballistic missiles flew about 350 kilometers.

The South Korean military says that the missiles were fired from the east coast of North Korea into the sea.

According to the Japanese Coast Guard, they detected a possible ballistic missile that fell outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone.

According to US media, the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean military said in a statement that the missiles were fired near the North Korean capital, Pyongyang.

The annual US-South Korean military exercises have been ongoing for the past few days and they have described them as purely defensive exercises.

It should be remembered that about 28,500 US troops and squadrons of fighter jets are stationed in South Korea.

Earlier on Thursday, South Korea’s prime minister met with President Donald Trump in Washington to explore ways to resume talks with North Korea.
