MUSCAT: The Omani government has announced four Eid al-Fitr holidays starting from March 19 to March 23, 2026, while offices will reopen from March 24.
According to astronomical predictions, most countries are likely to complete 30 days of Ramadan this year, which means Eid al-Fitr is expected to fall on Friday, March 20, in many countries.
However, the final date of Eid will be announced by the relevant religious authorities after the sighting of the Shawwal moon.
Ramadan in Oman began on February 19, 2026, while fasting in many other Gulf countries began on February 18. Accordingly, if Eid falls on March 20, Ramadan in Oman will last 29 days, while countries that start fasting a day earlier will complete 30 days.
