Passenger plane goes missing in Indonesia

ISLAMABAD: A passenger plane has gone missing in Indonesia, with three passengers and eight crew members on board.

According to the news agency, the plane took off from an airport in Indonesia and lost contact with air traffic controllers shortly after takeoff.

Authorities have launched a search for the small passenger plane. According to the Makassar Search and Rescue Agency, the turboprop plane was flying from Yogyakarta to the city of Makassar on the island of Sulawesi when it lost contact with the plane in the afternoon.

The operations chief of the Makassar Search and Rescue Agency said that helicopters and drones are being used to search for the plane.
