WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has cancelled his visit to India to attend the upcoming Quad Summit in India.

According to US media, President Donald Trump was supposed to visit India to attend the Quad Summit, but despite repeated assurances, he has cancelled the visit.

The report also claims that Trump has no intention of visiting India for the Quad Summit.

This development comes at a time when relations between Trump and Narendra Modi are said to have deteriorated in recent months.

Media reports also revealed that Modi was angry with President Trump’s repeated claims that he had resolved the war between India and Pakistan.

Prime Minister Modi had said that the US had no role in the India-Pakistan ceasefire and that this matter was settled directly by the two countries.

The foreign agency report further said that after controversial rhetoric from India in recent months, US President Donald Trump has canceled plans to visit India this year. The decision comes in the context of the tension that has arisen in India-US relations in recent days.

It should be noted that Trump had imposed punitive tariffs on India for buying Russian oil, after which tensions increased in relations between the two countries.

So far, there has been no official comment from the White House or the Indian Ministry of External Affairs on this alleged cancellation.
