RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has declared September 23 a national holiday across the country, according to Arab media.

t Saudi Arabia will celebrate its 95th National Day with full national enthusiasm on September 23.

In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a public holiday has been declared for citizens and foreign residents on the occasion of National Day.

For the first time, the  National Day was celebrated in 1965 during the reign of King Faisal.

After that, in 2005, King Abdullah granted the day the status of a permanent official holiday through a royal decree.

This day commemorates the historic decree of King Abdulaziz in 1932, under which a state named Saudi Arabia was established by uniting Nejd and Hejaz.

According to Arab media, this year’s National Day has been named Our Pride is in Our Nature, which reflects the cultural traditions and natural heritage of the Saudi people.

On the occasion of the National Day on September 23, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host fireworks, drone shows, aerial demonstrations by Saudi Hawks, cultural programs, traditional dances, and various exhibitions.

Special events will be held in major cities, including Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam, and important buildings will be illuminated with green lights.
