TOKRYO: Strong tremors were felt in various parts of Tokyo, Japan, with the intensity recorded as 6 on the Richter scale.
The depth of the earthquake is said to be 10 kilometers underground. According to the news agency, buildings in many cities shook due to the tremors and citizens came out of their homes and offices in fear.
No reports of any loss of life or property have been received so far, however, the authorities have issued an emergency alert and instructed the rescue teams to be ready to deal with any situation.
Geologists have said that these tremors may also be a series of aftershocks, so citizens need to be careful for more tremors.
After the earthquake, electricity and internet services were temporarily affected in the affected areas, the government has appealed to the public not to listen to rumors and follow official instructions.
