LONDON: The UK is going to the general election tomorrow, with voters heading to the polls to decide the fate of 650 parliamentary seats in the highly anticipated UK General Election 2024.

According to British news agencies, a tight contest is expected between the ruling Conservative Party and the opposition Labour Party, both vying for control after 14 years of Conservative rule. Furthermore, the Reform UK party could potentially surprise many by influencing the final vote tally.

More than 50 million voters will take part in the 2024 UK general election, exercising their right to vote at more than 40,000 polling stations across the country. The voting process will start at 7 am and will continue uninterrupted till 10 pm.

In this general election, more than four and a half thousand candidates will contest for the seats of Parliament. However, opinion polls do not indicate favorable results for the ruling party. It is suggested that the Reform UK Party could take votes away from the Conservatives, thus benefiting the Labour Party.

The results of the 2024 UK general election will determine whether the Conservatives get another five-year term or whether the opposition Labour Party takes the reins. The decisive moment will come tomorrow when the nation casts its vote.

Polling Station Details:

  1. Polling stations will open at 7:00am BST on Thursday, 4 July and close at 10:00pm.
  2. Voters must line up by 10:00 PM to cast their vote.
  3. Votes can only be cast at local polling stations, which may differ from previous elections. The address is given on polling cards or can be found online.

What do you need to know about Election Day?

Polling stations across the UK will open on Thursday, preparing for the election of a new prime minister. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called for a snap general election at the end of May in a rain-soaked announcement outside 10 Downing Street. The campaign has been marked by political scandals and rapid developments.

Political analysts and polls suggest a historic election, with the main opposition party, Labour, on course to challenge the Conservatives. The right-wing populist Reform UK party is also expected to play an important role.
