US faces European backlash over Russian oil sanctions

WASHINGTON: The United States is facing severe criticism from European leaders after easing sanctions on Russian oil.

According to a foreign news agency, European leaders say that this move could provide Russia with more financial resources for the war, so it is important to maintain pressure on Russia. The French and Ukrainian presidents have also opposed the American decision.

Meanwhile, the German Chancellor said that the American decision is wrong. The German Chancellor criticized US President Trump for the war against Iran, saying that Trump does not have a clear strategy to end the war in the Persian Gulf. The Iran war has had a serious impact on Germany’s energy prices.
