AGRA: A strange incident happened in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh where a woman asked for divorce from her husband after 40 days of marriage for taking a daily bath.

According to media reports, the woman said that her husband bathed only once or twice a month due to which his body smelled bad.

The woman approached the Family Counseling Center in Agra, and expressed the disability of living with a man who cannot maintain personal hygiene.

During the hearing, the man admitted that he usually bathed only once or twice a month but splashed Ganges water on himself once a week.

He revealed that in the last 40 days since their marriage, he had taken a bath six times on his wife’s insistence.

A lawyer said the woman returned to her parents’ home a few weeks after the wedding after the couple had a heated argument.

Her family then filed a complaint at the local police station and filed for divorce.

The man later agreed to adopt hygienic practices and bathe daily. However, his wife refused to live with him.

Both parties have now been directed to return to the counseling center on September 22 to resolve their issues.
