KARACHI: BYD enters Pakistan with two new offerings of EVs, including Sealion 7 and Atto 2, thereby increasing its offerings in Pakistan and BYD-MMC’s NEV category of vehicles, both for luxurious and city road feel.
These vehicles are announced at an event held at a BYD showroom located in Lahore.
On the other hand, the Sealion 7 takes on its role as a luxury SUV, complete with a luxury cabin and interior, all aimed at ensuring top-tier quality, perfect for competing for market share in the world market for luxury electric vehicles.
This is one of the top-selling vehicles from BYD, specifically in the Asia Pacific, offering top-of-the-line luxury electric vehicles, complete with 380 Nm of torque and 308 horsepower (230kW), which can go from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.7 seconds while stopping from 100 to 0km/h in 37 meters.
With an exceptionally long single-charge range of up to 567 km, the new Sealion 7 creates its own market niche, offering bold, confident driving.
The company BYD claims that Sealion 7 is entering the market in Pakistan at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 15,490,000 along with a booking deposit of Rs. 3,000,000. However, the timeline has not been notified.
Atto 2 is a new arrival in the smart, all-electric SUV segment, specifically designed for the Pakistani market, with luxurious amenities such as keyless start, a 50w wireless charger, ergonomically designed seats, and a simple cabin layout.
With respect to performance too, the Atto 2 offers considerable value for money, delivering 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and boasting a touted 380 km of driving distance on up to 75 percent less operational cost compared to internal combustion versions.
The price of this model is Rs. 7,290,000 ex-showroom, and the booking price is Rs. 1,400,000.
In either case, they run on underlying technologies provided by BYD, namely, Blade Battery, in terms of safety, longevity, and resistance to high temperatures.
Other benefits include improvements brought by BYD’s e-platform 3.0, namely, enhanced ranges, charging, and execution.
The vehicle features an advanced type of powertrain, called the “8-in-1” electrified power, which increases the performance, feel, safety, and consistency of the vehicle, while at the same time cutting its weight.
