ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has yet to decide on the matter of participation in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to be played in India and Sri Lanka from February 7.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, in a post on X, said that the final decision regarding the participation will be made either on Friday or next Monday.

In the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi informed the Prime Minister about the ICC situation, while Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif instructed Mohsin Naqvi to resolve the matter.

In his statement on the social networking platform X, Mohsin Naqvi said that the Prime Minister was briefed on ICC matters in the meeting, and the Prime Minister instructed that the matter be considered by considering all options.

According to sources, in the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi said that the ICC uses one law for India and another law for other countries.

According to sources, Mohsin Naqvi said that India had refused to come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, which was given another venue.

Naqvi said that Bangladesh had informed the ICC not to go to India due to security concerns in India. The PCB chairman said that Bangladesh was dropped from the World Cup instead of being given an alternative venue.

Naqvi added that if Pakistan does not participate in the World Cup, Pakistan will not get a huge amount of money for participation.

Mohsin Naqvi said that if we do not play the match with India, India will suffer the most.
