ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s automobile sector seems to be on the throttle of recovery, with hatchback cars  leading the charge.

As inflation slows down and consumer confidence improves, small, fuel-efficient cars are turning out to be the best bet among buyers in the South Asian nation.

The nation’s auto industry is growing back to life, and its budget cars are taking the lead.

According to recent statistics from Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), the nation’s automobile industry rose by 47percent in June 2025 as 21,773 vehicles were sold as compared to a mere 14,786 in May. On a year-on-year basis, sales increased a whopping 64%, which indicates a strong comeback.
