LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced a major change in the laws related to vehicle registration, here on Wednesday.
As per the details, reports have said that the Punjab cabinet has approved an amendment to Section 24 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance Act, 1965, which has removed the condition of registering a vehicle in the relevant district.
Earlier, vehicle owners had to register their vehicles in their own district. Now, residents of Punjab can register their vehicles in any district of their choice.
A spokesperson for the Excise Department said that vehicle registration numbers are being allocated under one series across Punjab, and there is no restriction on the movement of vehicles from one province to another.
