Sindh govt to distribute free pink electric scooters to selected women

KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced to distribute free pink electric scooters among selected women.

A ceremony in this regard will be held on March 8 on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the aim of this project is to provide safe and reliable travel facilities to women.

According to the minister, under this scheme, along with providing electric scooters to selected women, training in road safety and scooter riding will also be provided so that they can use them safely.

He said that this program has been introduced to provide safe and independent mobility to women.

He added that this initiative is part of the provincial government’s efforts to facilitate women and promote eco-friendly transport.

The minister said that the government plans to introduce similar projects in the future to further help women and promote sustainable transport in the province.
