Budget 2024-25 pension update: Cabinet approves 15pc increase

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Wednesday approved 15 hikes in the pension of government employees for the budget 2024-25.

The federal cabinet has approved a significant increase in the salaries of federal civil servants, with a 25 percent increase for grades 1 to 16 and a 20 percent increase for grades 17 to 22.

Provincial governments are also expected to follow suit and increase the pension of their employees by 15 percent.

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif is expected to announce both decisions during his parliamentary address later today.
