Budget 2024-25; Federal govt set budget outlay of Rs18000 billion

ISLAMABAD: The federal budget for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2024-25 with a total volume of approximately Rs18,000 billion will be presented in the National Assembly tomorrow (June 12).

In the budget, the salaries of federal government employees are expected to increase by 10 to 15 percent along with the hike in the pensions of retired employees by 10%.

Tax collection target likely to be set at Rs 12.9 trillion with interest and debt payments estimated at Rs 9.5 trillion in the budget, sources said.

Moreover, the federal government has allocated Rs800 billion for subsidies in the energy sector.
