ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a fare increase for Metro and electric buses. The increases have taken effect from today (June 1), CDA said on June 1, on Sunday.
CDA said fares for the Orange, Green, and Blue Line buses, as well as electric buses, to be fixed at Rs100. The announcement follows a week after CDA, said the metro fare and electric bus service in the federal capital will not be increased in January.
Earlier, a report said CDA will double the one-way trip fare from Rs50 to Rs100 on all these bus services, which were proposed to come into effect on May 26. However, last Saturday (May 24), a CDA spokesman said the fare for Orange, Blue, Green, as well as the electric feeder route fare, would remain unchanged.
The new fares will also be applied to all available metro lines, including Orange, Green, and Blue, and the 17 electric feeder bus routes operating through the capital.
Interestingly, the fare from the Orange line from N-5 to the Airport had been previously reported to have increased to Rs100 from Rs90, while the CDA feeder buses for each stop-to-stop fare are fixed at Rs100.
