ISLAMABAD: The federal capital administration has announced a significant hike in the one-way fares of the Orange Line Metrobus, Green Line, Blue Line, and Electric Feeder Route services in Islamabad, effective May 26, 2025.
According to the new fare policy, the fare per trip on all major routes will be fixed at Rs 100, marking a substantial increase from the previous fares, which ranged from Rs 50 to Rs 90.
The revised fares will apply to the Orange Line Metro Bus System, Green Line feeder route, Blue Line, and electric vehicle feeder routes, with uniform fares implemented across these services.
The authorities have justified the fare hike, citing rising operational costs and fuel prices, stating that it is necessary to maintain the quality of service.
While some citizens have expressed concerns over the additional burden on their pockets, others believe that the hike is necessary to ensure better travel facilities.
As the new fare policy comes into effect, commuters in Islamabad can expect a significant change in their daily transportation expenses.
