Cement prices reduced in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: A decrease in the retail price of cement has been recorded in the country during the past week.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the average retail price of cement per sack in the northern cities and areas of the country was recorded at Rs 1,535 in the week ending April 23, which is 0.84 percent less than the previous week.

In the previous week, the average retail price of cement per sack in the northern cities and areas of the country was recorded at Rs 1,548.

Cement sales recorded a 9 percent increase on an annual basis. Similarly, in the week ending April 23, the average retail price of cement per sack in the southern cities and areas of the country was recorded at Rs 1,542, which is 0.13 percent less than the previous week.

In the previous week, the average retail price of cement per sack in the southern cities and areas of the country was recorded at Rs 1,544.

According to statistics, during the last week, the average retail price of cement per sack in Islamabad was recorded at Rs 1541, Rawalpindi at Rs 1522, Gujranwala at Rs 1550, Sialkot at Rs 1550, Lahore at Rs 1582, Faisalabad at Rs 1510, Sargodha at Rs 1542, Multan at Rs 1536, Bahawalpur at Rs 1583, Peshawar at Rs 1516 and Bannu at Rs 1450.

Similarly, during the last week, the average retail price of cement per sack in Karachi was recorded at Rs 1461, Hyderabad at Rs 1520, Sukkur at Rs 1600, Larkana at Rs 1513, Quetta at Rs 1490, and Khuzdar at Rs 1667.
