Chicken and eggs more expensive, government rates blown up

LAHORE: Citizens are now getting cheap protein at expensive prices, the prices of chicken and eggs have been arbitrarily increased.

The official rate of chicken meat in Lahore is fixed at Rs 526 per kg, but it is being sold at a higher price of Rs 20 to 25 in the market.

Chicken meat is being sold at different rates in different shops in the open market. Instead of Rs 526, chicken meat is being sold at Rs 540 to 550 in the open market.

Similarly, the rate of farm eggs is fixed at Rs 246 per dozen, but they are being sold at Rs 255 to 260 in the open market.

Citizens have demanded that chicken and eggs be sold at official rates.
