LAHORE: Due to the decline in inflation, chicken prices in other cities of Punjab, including Lahore, decreased for the third consecutive day.
The price of chicken meat decreased by Rs 26 in three days, while on Saturday it decreased by Rs 12, with the new rates fixed at Rs 475 per kilogram.
Similarly, the price of live chicken decreased by Rs 8 to Rs 314 per kilogram in the wholesale market and Rs 328 in the retail market.

Broiler Meat (per kilogram) sold in retail: Rs. 475
Eggs from farms (per packet): Rs. 10230
These prices reflect the current market rates in the poultry industry.
According to the official rates, there was no change in the prices of eggs, while the price of eggs per dozen in Lahore and other cities of Punjab is Rs 345.
Meanwhile, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), weekly inflation measured by the Sensitive Price Index (SPI) for common consumption groups increased by 0.67 percent during the week ending November 21.
The SPI for the week under review in the above group was recorded at 324.11 points as against 321.94 points during the previous week.
Compared to the same week of the previous year, the SPI for the combined consumption group in the week under review witnessed an increase of 4.92%.
The weekly SPI covers 17 urban centres and 51 essential commodities for all expenditure groups with base year 2015-16 = 100.
