LAHORE: Chicken prices increased massively in Punjab cities including Lahore as the meat reached nearly Rs600 per kg on Thursday.

As per the details, the meat price moved up amid a rise in demand, in which consumption of other meat increased.

In the data shared by local traders, the price of broiler chicken meat is Rs610 per kg. Broiler chicken meat has become expensive by approximately Rs100 per kg in recent days.

Meanwhile, live broiler has been fixed at Rs450 per kg wholesale and Rs460 per kg retail. The price of eggs per dozen is stable at Rs300.

The traders’ association has expressed its concerns that chicken, like beef and mutton, is becoming unaffordable for the common man. They criticized the budget for unfair taxation and total disregard of his recommendations.

This situation indicates the increasing financial burden on the citizens as the cost of living continues to increase rapidly in the wake of the new budget.
