ISLAMABAD: The prices of petroleum products fluctuate, but many people do not appreciate that the rising price of petroleum products due to inflation has resulted in a significant increase in the wholesale price of ghee and cooking oils.
Prices for premium ghee and cooking oils are reported to be plus–Rs30/kg (from Rs560/kg to Rs590/kg) by the All–Pakistan General Store Association and other grocery retailers‘ associations.
The cost of second-rate cooking oils has likewise increased from Rs510/litre to Rs545/litre, a rise of Rs35/litre. The cost of second-rate ghee has likewise increased from Rs510/kg to Rs535/kg, a rise of Rs25/kg.
The price increases for everyday items create extra pressure on consumers, and many families will suffer from the continuing effects of inflation.
