As the dollar continued to rise, the rupee fell further.
At the start of business on Thursday, the dollar became more expensive by 85 paisa at the interbank market, after which the dollar was traded at 283 rupees 50 paisa.
While in the open market, the dollar became expensive by one rupee to 284 rupees.
