ISLAMABAD: After the recent increase in jet fuel prices in the country, there is a fear of increasing domestic flight fares.
According to travel agents, the price of jet fuel has been increased by Rs 40.20 per liter. Since March 1, 2026, the price of jet fuel has increased by 174 percent. Since March, jet fuel has become more expensive than Rs 328 per liter and has reached a high of Rs 517.17.
According to travel agents, due to the increase in jet fuel, the price of one-way air tickets from Karachi to Lahore and Islamabad is expected to increase by at least Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000.
Travel agents say that the one-way fare from Karachi to Lahore will now increase from at least Rs 32,000 to Rs 38,000, while the fare from Karachi to Islamabad may also increase from at least Rs 32,000 to Rs 38,000.
Airlines have instructed passengers to inform them in a timely manner after this increase and to book tickets according to the new fares.
