Gold prices increase sharply in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Gold prices witnessed an increase throughout Pakistan on Tuesday due to the strengthening of the international gold market. In this regard, the price of 24 karats per tola has seen a hike of Rs. 4,600.

The new prices of gold as per the All Pakistan Gems & Jewellers Association (APGJSA) have been reported at Rs. 476,362 per tola. Moreover, the price of gold per gram has soared by Rs. 3,944, bringing it to Rs. 408,403 in Pakistani markets.

It is pertinent to mention that gold prices saw a fall on Monday by Rs. 4,400, bringing them to Rs. 471,762 in the country.

International Gold Price Hike
The international price of gold saw an increase of $46 per ounce, thus raising the gold rate to $4,540 per ounce.

The latest price rise in the international gold price can be linked to geopolitical uncertainties, changes in the rate of interest, and investors’ appetite for gold as a haven.

Moreover, the recent development has been driven by factors in the Middle East.
