Gold sheds Rs4,900 per tola, settles at Rs501,162

KARACHI: The prices of gold and silver decreased in the global and local markets on the first day of the business week.

The price of gold per tola also fell by Rs4,900 to Rs5,01,162, while the price of gold per ten grams fell by Rs4,201 to Rs4,29,665.

The price of silver per tola fell by Rs145 to Rs8,417, and the price of silver per ten grams also fell by Rs124 to Rs7,216.

The price of gold per ounce in the international bullion market fell by $49 to $4,788.

Yesterday, Gold prices in Pakistan increased in line with their gain in the international market. In the local market, the gold price per tola reached Rs506,062 after a gain of Rs4,500 during the day.

Similarly, 10-gram gold was sold at Rs433,866 after it increased by Rs3,858, according to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). On Friday, the gold price per tola reached Rs501,562 after a decline of Rs3,300 during the day.

The international rate of gold was up by $45 to reach $4,837 per ounce (with a premium of $20)
